COVID-19 Update 3
PPE Status
As you may be aware, we have been working hard producing face shields to aid in the PPE shortage. We have now delivered 420 face shields all over the country! Thanks to the generous donations of our community, we were able to donate over 40 of those shields. We really appreciate the donations, and we’re sure our healthcare workers do too!

Face Masks
In addition to the face shields, we partnered with our community to help distribute sewn face masks.
The face mask design is reusable, machine washable, and ergonomically shaped. To fit as many faces as possible, the mask is cut generously around the nose and cheek.
The mask is made from hospital grade sterilization wrap or surgical drapes, which offer an efficient microbial barrier, with a high-level of protection against fluids and particles. This material is typically sterilized and discarded after use, but we are giving it a new life.
These masks are not direct substitutes for N95, surgical, or procedural masks and recommended for any use requiring regulatory approval.
The proceeds from the face masks simply aim to cover materials costs and labor. Producing and distributing PPE is helping to finance people in our community who have been laid off or had hours cut due to the economic effects of COVID-19.

Ear Savers
To complement the face mask we are distributing, we are also printing surgical mask tension release bands for ear comfort and extended use (ear savers are the red plastic part). Wearing a face mask for hours on end can be very painful on the ears and the last thing we want is our healthcare workers and public service providers experiencing any more discomfort than they already are! This design has been reviewed by the VA/NIH/FDA for clinical use. You can view the NIH listing here.
Face Shield M - V4 Update
We are now on version 4 of our M Series Face Shield. This new version can be stacked to increase output, especially when printing overnight. The new design also uses about 40% less plastic and can print about twice as fast. These changes have almost doubled our capacity to manufacture these face shields!
